I had the same thought a while back. As cool as it would be to even use it to replace sb, it's a lot harder to manage than the current implementation.

From managing spam to getting your nickserv dropped because you forgot to update the server, it's too much work.

There are like 3 people, including myself, who still use IRC.

I'd be willing to set one up if people did actually want to use it, but so far there just hasn't been a lot of demand.

I think setting up an IRC channel would be great, everyone that has posted on this thread wants one.
How many active users are you aiming for in order to keep it up and running?

If you need staff/mods just for IRC I can volunteer.

I might not be that active on ShoutBox here but if it can be bridged via IRC for Android ™ then that is a different story.

I am very much active on IRC for Android ™.

Like moderators just for IRC.

I doubt kids use IRC anyway so it can be self moderated for spam and other stuff especially if private IRC.

Wonder if it can be bridged to ShoutBox and if so then how about the entire registered users of the website situation.

I don't mind using IRC, I still use it for my own reasons. However, it's unlikely that I will be able to idle much as I haven't gotten around setting up an IRC bouncer like ZNC.

Off topic: We could have a Signal group chat alternatively, just like how RF had one.
