I'd be willing to set one up if people did actually want to use it, but so far there just hasn't been a lot of demand. I'd want this. https://gizmodo.com/authorities-claim-they-accessed-encrypted-signal-chats-1848361100 That's not the fault of the Signal protocol. This is more of a user error, and from reading the article (whilst it isn't clear as there isn't any mention of the method of accessing the messages), it implies that its a user error. I'm thinking that the feds either got an invite link to their group chat and logged it or they got one of the members to open the Signal app. Had they deleted the Signal app and the backup made by the app, the messages would've not been accessible to any party. As for Threema, I do not have the ability to give an opinion on it as I haven't used it. https://gizmodo.com/authorities-claim-they-accessed-encrypted-signal-chats-1848361100 BS. Also, Threema is pretty good but I don't think it is that much better. Posts: 48 Threads: 0 Joined: N/A I would chill on an IRC or Matrix server if there was one. I would also join a Signal, Session or XMPP group. I cannot create a Telegram because of the phone number and device requirement problem. Anyways telegram isn't exactly safe, but no public chatroom should be considered safe encrypted or not.

https://gizmodo.com/authorities-claim-they-accessed-encrypted-signal-chats-1848361100 I wish people wouldn't post articles and say stuff like this and make a wild assumption. This article says NOTHING about Signal being cracked and mentions multiple examples that demonstrate how it isn't. It doesn't make since, it is impossible to break signals end to end encryption. The only way messages could be read if someones phone is compromised either remotely or physically. In the case in this article, ether one of them was an informant or had their phone forensically anaylzed. There are still many people using IRC though, I wouldn't be so sure about the exact number. I still miss the old days and I'd be very happy if the SB gets converted/bridged somehow to an IRC community.
