What is reputation? What happen to my account if I got negative reputation?

Original point of reputation was to help people trust someone, but it not exactly got what it meant to do.

It is just a number right now, if you get positive cool and if you get negative it does not matter.

I disagree, 

a user with negative high credit it would explain he has issues, problems,scams or so. 
because to obtain 1k + rep for example, it means you were trusted, or liked by  at least 20people. 

i think reputation is more like credibility score.
because we all won't trust someone with 1000- rep, because it won't just happen unless you are so shit

True, one with high negative rep will likely to be a scammer, but there someone I do not see a good reason why got neg like @DaCoke or see @Nas for example who early had a neg score but lucky he got back positive rep. or a positive rep like many I don't want to take names of since they will annoy  me otherwise.

People are unconscious based that god user and positive rep will be more trustworthy but hurts when that is not true.

well its hard to get 10-20 users spam a user with negative rep and that is a rare case, let's watch the samples you mentioned

all give this dude negative feedback, Scam,Pedo..etc , maybe it's wrong but i won't buy a VPS from him knowing ppl had bad experience. 

remember 

1. new member can only do -1 , only god level do -50 and +50
2. positive and negative cancel each other, so if you are a good user and someone decided to give you -50, yet your total rep will show as positive.

REP is very much like reviews on hotel in booking, it can be personal and sometime professional yet, if many many people decided hotel is down rated, then it's a bad hotel, trust it.

I don't think it should be like that. On this forum, criticizing someone will get you negative rep. I called out a guy for being racist once and got -rep instantly
