True, one with high negative rep will likely to be a scammer, but there someone I do not see a good reason why got neg like @DaCoke or see @Nas for example who early had a neg score but lucky he got back positive rep. or a positive rep like many I don't want to take names of since they will annoy  me otherwise.
 
I do not trust rep system because most time will just spam neg and positive rep without any good reason. that is annoying part

People  are unconscious based that god user and positive rep will be more trustworthy but hurts when that is not true.

well its hard to get 10-20 users spam a user with negative rep and that is a rare case, let's watch the samples you mentioned

2. new member can only do -1 , only god level do -50 and +50
3. positive and negative cancel each other, so if you are a good user and someone decided to give you -50, yet your total rep will show as positive.

REP is very much like reviews on hotel in booking, it can be personal and sometime professional yet, if many many people decided hotel is down rated, then it's a bad hotel, trust it.

bro im talking about the rep and as example, if it's fake and you never sold VPS , let the admins remove that rep 
because as I expalined users new ones will think you are bad based on your rep.
