To keep its dominant position in the pacific? If Taiwan gone, the whole South Korean, Japan, Thailand, Philippines, etc alliance would be in the ash heap of history.

wtf is one of the superpowers needs a tiny country 1/100th with its size for anything. If they do invade it they do it to provoke the west, I see no other reason.

i dont think so, tthey are not that stupid to start a world war,

unlike ukraine, taiwan is already under the protection of the western allies,

thats why putin is brave enough to invade ukraine, but xi is really unlikely to invade taiwan
