There are still many people using IRC though, I wouldn't be so sure about the exact number. I still miss the old days and I'd be very happy if the SB gets converted/bridged somehow to an IRC community. Discord, Slack, Matrix, Telegram and all those shiny copycat "alternatives" won't ever be the same thing.
