botnets

Hello everybody I been researching different botnets this week, I found  byob I like the project. Its based in python and has some good modules that does a lot of stuff has anyone else messed about with it ?

Is this shit a meme or is there better alternatives ?

This project definitely had a backdoor at some point...

It's been years though so I am guessing that functionality is removed but just something to be aware of. I'd be curious as to your full desire to use it, as if you are actually wanting to code a full botnet you would want your own source from scratch. If it's just for a few machines for specific targeting, can probably accomplish very similar things with metasploit + armitage.

Personally I couldn't get it to work, but maybe that was just because I wasn't doing it right.
Also probably a honeypot of sorts.
You should just make code your own. You can find botnets on github if you need a place to start.

Yes, you're right, there was a backdoor. But it has already been fixed, or you can do code analysis yourself if something happens.
