For the price of a coffee, you can pretty much quadruple your output and potential for high end gaming (Quite literally)
You can use internal scaling like DLSS and AMD FSR tech (Though not every game title, especially older titles don't have this at all nor are updated to do so), but this specific software uses state of the art upscaling algorithms to run your games or videos at lower resolutions and bumping them up to fit the screen, meanwhile giving you more legroom to up other quality settings.
tl;dr I set my Cyberpunk 2077 game to 1024x768 borderless windowed, and used this software to make it fit and fill out a 1080p monitor, letting me push all the settings to max including Ultra Ray Tracing. I kept a consistent 60fps throughout, the quality of the upscaling was top notch and my GFX card's temps never went above 55 degrees.
Would highly recommend, ESPECIALLY if you're looking for ways to upscale content to your lovely 4k Monitors. \"History is never fated to repeat, it just rhymes from time to time\" Posts: 354 Threads: 0 Joined: N/A November 23, 2022 at 2:01 PM Sounds interesting but usually I like to run in native mode like FSR.
Btw do you think that FSR it is better than DLSS in any aspect? AMD made a good move to make it avaliable to most of GPU include Nvidia one's. neoh̴̠̘̰͒â̷͓̥̗ͅr̵̜͉͇͆͑̽͝b̶̡̝͉͈̀̎̀̍i̸͌̅́ Posts: 5851 Threads: 0 Joined: N/A November 23, 2022 at 2:10 PM (November 23, 2022, 02:01 PM)RoyalNavy Wrote: Sounds interesting but usually I like to run in native mode like FSR.

Tbh, this tech needs more mainstream coverage, as it opens the door for alot of gamers who can't play high end games to be able to. I guess because it means that people won't feel as compelled to upgrade hardware, thus losing sales. But overall, DLSS and FSR are both outstanding moves from AMD and Nvidia, though FSR being avaliable to those with Nvidia cards is awesome, meanwhile DLSS being an Nvidia tech only is a bit of a shit move. \"History is never fated to repeat, it just rhymes from time to time\" Posts: 110 Threads: 0 Joined: N/A November 23, 2022 at 2:30 PM Damn, if it actually works well that's awesome. Nice find.
Not sure how these tech work exactly, but can't you use DLSS with the same 1024x768 resolution tho? neoh̴̠̘̰͒â̷͓̥̗ͅr̵̜͉͇͆͑̽͝b̶̡̝͉͈̀̎̀̍i̸͌̅́ Posts: 5851 Threads: 0 Joined: N/A November 23, 2022 at 2:37 PM (November 23, 2022, 02:30 PM)fraserrgb Wrote: Damn, if it actually works well that's awesome. Not sure how these tech work exactly, but can't you use DLSS with the same 1024x768 resolution tho? I tried using the internal DLSS on Cyberpunk with full max settings and ray tracing and got around 40-50fps, but using this software gave me a constant 60, which worked out much better. But i'm thinking it'll really show it's benefit for games like Halo Infinite, which are hugely demanding and don't have FSR or DLSS baked into them natively. Plus if you're running games on a 4k Monitor, you can keep 1080p resolutions while scaling to 4k and increasing other settings to improve visuals. It's quite a remarkable piece of software \"History is never fated to repeat, it just rhymes from time to time\" Posts: 222 Threads: 0 Joined: N/A November 23, 2022 at 2:39 PM (November 23, 2022, 01:46 PM)Dredgen Sun Wrote: So I stumbled across a piece of software recently when trouble shooting Star Citizen optimisations and this was the golden ticket.

There is also https://github.com/Blinue/Magpie which you can use to force FSR on games that don't natively support it. Of course, both the Lossless Scaling and Magpie won't produce the exact same results as the native resolution, but it's actually pretty damn good already.

I have heard that FSR 2.0 is closing the gap slowly, but for now DLSS is still king. neoh̴̠̘̰͒â̷͓̥̗ͅr̵̜͉͇͆͑̽͝b̶̡̝͉͈̀̎̀̍i̸͌̅́ Posts: 5851 Threads: 0 Joined: N/A November 23, 2022 at 2:43 PM (November 23, 2022, 02:39 PM)omegatiger75 Wrote: (November 23, 2022, 01:46 PM)Dredgen Sun Wrote: So I stumbled across a piece of software recently when trouble shooting Star Citizen optimisations and this was the golden ticket.

It's quite insane that it outperforms Nvidia's tech on Cyberpunk I'm just happy that such an accessible solution is available to everyone, so we can ALL play great games and no0ne is left behind. \"History is never fated to repeat, it just rhymes from time to time\" |
