I think bitcoin was invented by a group of people in the hope of a single world currency. But the greed of people took over and so altcoins appeared. Or maybe when everyone switches to bitcoin, in five years, a person will appear and tell about how to calculate a private key or a fundamental error in the algorithm and there will be a complete collapse. :)
