I want to learn one of those as a next step. I'm confused between the power of python and the simplicity of ROR.
Any recommendations?

Personally never used it but I think is still fairly popular and I know a few frameworks like MSF are still written in it.

people still hype it as great for web frameworks so if that is your cup of tea it might be worth it.

Meh, if you google the most used language, you will see not many people use Ruby nowadays. But in the future, who knows. Maybe it will be another C++. It all depends on how companies opition about which language to use
