I agree. I always thought that TikTok would have been seriously damaging to the point that I would be more than happy if it gets banned in the West. At some point the US administration was on the verge of banning it (see: https://www.reuters.com/technology/bill-ban-tiktok-us-government-devices-passes-committee-2021-05-12/) because of US citizens data being lurked by Chinese government.

Grand opinions from all of you, but someone explained quite well a while ago what's really happening.

Tiktok, created and hosted by the Chinese, was created to disrupt a society.
They don't provide the platform to their own, but heavily invest in supplying the West with a program that will keep the younger generation occupied, away from learning.
They control what's promoted, they can add any amount of likes or shares to whatever toks they please, promoting the stupidest videos.
Now kids believe they have to follow these trends, while Chinese children go ahead doing science.
