Is there another provider such as DNMX who provies anonymous but not temporary mails?
smspva seem to mark dnmx addresses as untrustworthy.

I haven't had any problems with protonmail to be honest.
Just have strict opsec.
When they ask you for a secondary e-mail, I have been able to sign up with Guerilla Mail

Just use protonmail / riseup, unless you want to deal with setting up a self hosted email. You won't have any problems just make sure you keep the same OPSEC you would when doing anything illegal.

Didn't Proton hand details over of someones email recently in an investigation?

If I recall correctly it was just the registration IP, very easy to prevent just don't use a IP address belonging to you.
Protonmail is a legitimate company so they have to follow laws when they apply.

Ahh that's fair enough I guess. I remember it being a bit of a shift in people thinking they can protect their data completely..
