No you can't literally force someone to join twitter but if he make some changes like he said he would in his latest post, that is end to end encryption messaging system like Signal am sure more people would be using it.

twitter is still widely used for the public figures... otherwise, they have to communicate through media, which often have to do due diligence.

I mean it's already being used by a lot of journalists and even if they make it e2e, it could just be like the whatsapp e2e where they can still read your messages.

He's bought Twitter for a reason - we will find out in the coming months what that is for sure.

He is doing this out of business interest, whether it is a good decision or not, that's why he's doing it. I doubt anything will change about the website.
