What programming language does New World uses ?

New World uses a mix of C++ and LUA as programming languages.

New World was developed using Amazon Lumberyard, as version of Cry Engine developed by Amazon. It uses C++ for some components then LUA for some others. It is for the developper to chose when it is the right language to choose.
This combination of programming languages is very popular amongst every other game, such as Garry’s mod and others. LUA is mainly used for the scripting side of the game such as character interactions, while C++ is more used for the back end of the engine.
LUA and C++ are both fairly complex languages to learn, it both proposes an unique approach to variable and function declaration. It proposes a great challenger for the newer developper. While LUA is fairly easier to read than C++, it proposes a whole new architecture and way of dealing with events.
