Don't know about anon, etc. but there are a bunch of legit groups doing legit stuff. Off the top of my head, GhostSec and AgainstTheWest have posted tonnes of stuff.

Also the fact that their .com domain and server is still up (for 12 years now) shows that they're not being viewed as a threat. Anonymous came to existence, because there was a good combination of skids and unsecured technology which meant that anyone with 2 braincells could DDoS a website or worse. Today though, even if there are unpatched servers and whatnot, the overall complexity of doing cybercrime has risen and skids don't want to get into something as complicated as opsec. I guess I'm just waiting for the whole anonymous thing to finally die out, because it's really annoying when some dude that has a twitter account with linked phone number, email and an alt for furry porn claims credit for somebody's work, even if that person doesn't want to claim credit themselves.

I don't think they're actually hacking anything these days though. Everyone with skill jumped ship a long time ago. I've not seen anything relevant from anonymous since like 2012 lol. I've only seen them taking credit for shit they had nothing to do with.

Half of the hacks Anonymous have taken credit for during the whole Ukrainian situation were definitely not carried out by them. Especially the hack on msk.ru and a few other high-tier Russian websites. They just have a knack for seeking relevance even though they've been dead for a long time. Their IRC is just constant circlejerking and larping.

The majority of vulnerabilities GhostSec "found" were actually given to them by a few individuals who told them to take credit for it. Pretty sure the only thing they didn't actually release was the kremlin.ru DB (which Anonymous actually claimed to have found lmao)

Anonymous always seems like the most cringeworthy, unoriginal hacktivists there are. I can't take anyone who claims to say anything on behalf of an "Anonymous" group seriously.

Yup, they've been cringe for the past decade. The fact that anyone still takes them even remotely seriously is honestly hilarious to me. Hell, even during their peak, they were a bunch of skids... I was around all of the /i/ boards and on partyvan/helldive IRC during Project Chanology etc, and even back then they weren't doing anything impressive... just taking credit for stuff that wasnt even being done by them.
