How to get the cheapest flights?

Hey everyone!
I'm currently looking for flights within Australia right now and they are sooooo incredibly expensive! Does anyone know some tricks to get cheap flights?

I know there is the staff travel rates but apparently they do ID checks so you can't even use that.

If you could post some ways to get cheaper domestic flights within Australia or any tricks, that would be awesome!

Don't know any system breaking methods but:
Use skyscanner or kiwi.
Look at tickets is from Mon to Wed. After that the prices go up.

Just don't travel during holidays, plan your flying outside the holiday seasons, they always drop the price and it's worked out for me just fine :)

Usually some websites offer super cheap deals for aeroplane flights if you're lucky, I'd take your chance at it, simply do some research and find the lowest price possible combining that with what others have said.

Google Flights gives sometimes surprisingly good results, also try that. Skyscanner and Hopper (app) too.
