Do you make bank?

Given this forum is comprised of people with above average income/ wealth (excluding skids), how have you made your money (that isn't from a job)? Even if it only made you a measly salary what was it and what can you recommend to people from your experience making money?

I make a good income from my mostly-automated day job so I don't have any advice for making money outside of work, but advice on money in general:

Money is good for removing unhappiness - problems that you have can be made to go away with more money. However, once you get to the point where you're not unhappy, more money will not make you more happy. At that point chasing money is basically a waste of time (inflation aside).

"Making bank" shouldn't be your goal. Take Elon Musk, for example, richest guy in the world and he's trying to impress retards on twitter with shitty memes. Not the actions of a happy person.

I agree, however it would take a lot of burden and emotions of my mind, at a certain point chasing it becomes useless unless you want to colonise mars or get into Epstein island, their is only so many sports cars you can buy.

Do you ever feel obsolete or vulnerable that you work a mostly automated job, or do you provide the "last mile" of value that AI and automation can't achieve, I guess your kind of living the dream, glad you made it :pomhappy:

Yeah the "taking burdens and emotions off my mind" is the first step, and that's where money is valuable. Once the burdens are gone, that's where I found money stops correlating to happiness. Sports cars are an interesting example, if you're really into cars this might be different but for me when I'm driving, the car is almost completely unnoticed and I'm thinking about other traffic on the road, being late, etc.

RE the job: The "last mile" of value is a good way to put it. Thanks :-)
