I am very interested in domain registrars that might be resistant to this sort of issue.  A method I have used in the past is to find long-lived sites with controvertial content or similar in nature to what I am trying to protect and see where they are registered.

As I'd posted earlier in other contexts, I repeat the warning to everyone about njal.la and similar bogus registrars who make their reputation on being "privacy" focused - that is fake and they steal domains and lock domains without notice and only sometimes let you transfer away. Absolutely do not trust njal.la.
