The press is reporting that REvil are the hackers behind the Aus Medibank DB hack and are behind the extortion attempt (ransome demands).
But checking other available information shows that REvil are not hackers or ransomwear people, but are 'affiliate' group. If this is true, then are they just middlemen or brokers working for the real hackers and does this mean that the real identitys of those who carried out the attack is still unknown?
Or do I misundertsnad it all?

Stop whining. Many of us got such a warnings and did something for this forums without a fuss. Such a shame @thekilob is gone for sure he would give you proper answer to your thread.
