Are Gaming Laptops Good For Coding?

Some people need a light and portable laptop for travel, while others need a bit more power for gaming or graphic design.
A gaming laptop is a laptop that is designed for playing computer games. Gaming laptops are usually more expensive than regular laptops.
Plus, they’re usually more affordable than other types of laptops with similar specs.
Gaming laptops are a great option for coding because they’re even more powerful than regular laptops. That means you can code faster and more efficiently.

They are kinda overqualified for the job unless you wanna be a game dev

Too heavy for me, my choice would be something lighter and agree with Mrunkman, they are overqualified in general

For coding?
Man, you could code on a smart fridge if you really wanted to. Find something with a screen, a keyboard, and a text editor, and you've got yourself a programming laptop.

In some cases more memory than the average office laptop has is needed but generally said you don't need one.

They can do the job. Nothing special is really needed for most instances of coding.

I agreed with a lot of what the original poster said except for the last line where it said a gaming laptop can make you more efficient. Don't agree with that. Experience and your skill set is what makes you more efficient.

Yes, They are good but i consider a portable system for programming

probably a bit overkill but they do get the job done

A bit late but i personally use gaming laptop (Legion 5) for coding so yeah they're good but its an overkill. Look for a laptop with great and big screen (so you can see more code), great keyboard and also lightweight. On another note if youre interested in using heavy gpu resources for training AI you can use google collab
