When it comes to buying a GPU. Which company would you buy from and what GPU would you buy.

Nvidia for machine learning and high end gaming. For lower end it doesn't really make a difference.

after seeing how the 4090s are killing themselves Im probs on team red plus they are looking better and better each new generation

100% this. I love my Nvidia cards for ML and even the older higher end ones have held up well for gaming, but I'm doing less and less at this point.

Getting a nvidia GPU is sensible for compatibility and worry free.
Just hate the monopoly, which causes high price.

Nvidia. A lot of my AI and 3D model rendering libraries are not compatible with AMD.
