Hellu everybody :))
I want to buy a new laptop and wanted to know if anybody has a good recommendation since I am not that of a tech freak xD Shouldn't be too expensive though. Would also be very interesting to know which hardware you all use.

What are you going to do with the computer? i mean it depends on the tasks you would do in order to give you a recommendation.
I think you should go with a good ryzen 5 or 7 and 16 ram ?

A computer just for browsing the web and work, nothing special. :)

What price range? Unfortunately "shouldn't be too expensive" isn't specific enough for most people when recommending a computer, expensive to one person might be cheap to another. Stating what you plan on doing with it as well as a definitive budget is a good place to start.

Depends on what you're doing as well and where you're willing to buy from. You're always going to find a cheaper machine buying used from Facebook/Kijiji/* but the downside to that is putting up with the bullshit you sometimes get from people selling their shit for whatever reasons, as well as looking out for yourself as to not get fucked over.
I do not sell data. Please do not ask.

A used xx30/xx20 ThinkPad.

A T430 should be fine for basic web browsing and media streaming.

Probably learn about what "the latest" is, like a Ryzen5 5600 or 7000 series. Or at least an Intel i5-8300H.

Yes, you can get away with a lot less. But you probably want at least something that runs Win11 (even if you don't actually run Win11).

Kijiji and Craigslist. Lots of people get rid of perfectly good laptops.
Also liquidators that have short warranties but often get good deals.

I took a chromebook and converted it to a linux ParrotOS hacking tool. Less than $100 but needs more SSD space.
=> don't skimp on the SSD drive!
