You see that several Vamp films by Eggers etc are being canned coz of Morbius failure? Like the trend believes that vamp media isn't in (What we do in the shadows was fucking brilliant) when actually, if you pitch a 2nd tier spiderman villain portrayed by an obnoxious actor, that's probably why it failed.

Yeah I guess people / execs struggle to see the bigger picture sometimes. There's often a good market for most types of films, as long as it's actually good in the first place.

Exactly, trends are a good gauge for success, but from what ive seen mostly; the newest ideas and innovations in storytelling and narratives are what makes the success, followed by a slew of cheap knockoffs.
