They are claiming "There is also no evidence that the information of the 323 customers was transferred outside of EnergyAustralia’s systems during the incident." Maybe just an internal cockup?

A lot of aussie banks and companies are yet to insist on 2FA login. Once logged in to the banks, to be fair, most do enforce sms code or similar for setting up a new contact if you wish to transfer funds. But still, the fact you don't need 2FA to simply login to most is a concern these days.
