Stupidity started the Ukraine thing, but that was a response to money grabbing and geopolitics.
My view isn't always popular because, whilst not excusing Russia/Putin, it does offer a level of understanding.

The fashion of hating Russians doesn't allow for looking at history so I tend not to express my opinion much.

For those with an open mind (not blind love of either side) try looking at fracking and the fall of the previous government in Ukraine.
The timelines match up all too well.
