They got hacked the same way leakbase did with x4b they waited for him to login to his admin account and captured his auth cookies. A lot of people think HTTPs is completely encrypted along the chain but it actually gets terminated at various middle boxs/hops decrypted monitored then re encrypted again. It's how most CDN's process data and why there vsys proxy getting hit lead to their demise.
