I just finished high school and I am planning to learn programming and build a career off of it, I decided to learn JavaScript but I don't know what place would be the best to learn it so if anyone has a suggestion I'd be really glad if you could share it.

https://javascript.info is an incredible resource. I'm not a new programmer but I've been using this site myself to learn javascript. Easy to read and in-depth. Highly recommend.

Some of my friends working in big money institutions suggest learning COBOL. The original developers of COBOL are either dead or retiring and hence demand is high.

I think the best way to learn any coding language , or anything in general is to dive into it and build habits with it
make it part of ur daily life
pick a good learning site and stick to it , and with time you`ll find yourself diving and interacting with it
i can recommend you the freecodecamp , they have a very system and its for free
all the best of luck
