Python is good to start with, it isn't overwhelming and it's decently easy to learn. However, it is not the most efficient so I would learn some other ones once you get the programming basics down in Python.

maybe its just me but I find javascript callbacks really confusing in comparison to most other languages like python, ruby, etc.
