but besides human error does it all come down to tracing back ips and logs to the source?

im a noob so going on what little ive read about networking it seems like theres always a fingerprint somewhere to be traced back to the source

idk how more people arent caught...does it boil down to there being so much cyber activity it cant all be tracked?

mostly bad opsec IIRC

most people getting caught through terrible opsec mistakes like using personal details on forum accounts or having home ips leaking

If I ever get caught it's probably because of my friends telling anyone about me doing that stuff.

It usually comes crashin down from a hitch in eir routine, aka human error, you do A then B activate C and close D, simple to follow till yer brain goes haywire by either blindin paranoia, lack of sleep, deterioratin mental or physical health, or just havin a bad or 'off' day, even if it only sets yer chances of messin up to 0.1% over 100 days thats a 10% chance yer gonna hitch yer routine and that one hitch might be what does yer in, tho there be other human variables too like ego, experience, 'business' partners, and awareness that can also affect how one might get nabbed or faultier
