Has anyone figured out a more stable way to get callbacks for the foothold? I can't seem to get the system to hit any http server I am locally hosting

I'm having the same issue, but that's with resolving HTB domain names in general, it's not specific to this box. Does anyone have a solution to this? I tried to disable ipv6 on my Kali install but then I can't connect to the VPN of HTB.

You need to configure the host file. 

sudo nano /etc/hosts

10.10.11.175 outdated.htb
10.10.11.175 mail.outdated.htb
