I appreciate your concerns and devotion to the forums  :heart:

I'd suggest we give it at least 24 hours before speculating whether the site has been seized, especially with how common DDoS attacks are. If something was seriously wrong staff would say.

People are allowed to be paranoid and skeptical, but at least try to be a little patient and rational when things like this happen. Otherwise it just causes this domino effect of people losing their minds.

The moderators did their job just fine, they did notify us via the Staff chat we have. I was active shortly before the DDoS attack happened, and whoever started the attack basically waited till I was inactive for a short period of time to start their bullshit. I was back about ~1-1.5 hours after and immediately mitigated the attack and let everyone know the situation. You can see that all our infrastructure (Chat, CDN, etc) is still operating normally, and the website is back up now that the DDoS has been mitigated.

As with most DDoS attacks, it'll run up the resources of our webservers - and the attacks came from Tor + Clearweb so that's why you likely saw both websites down. This hasn't been the first time the site has been DDoS'd, and it won't be the last. We try to be online as much as possible, but obviously we are humans and need breaks. From this it is apparent someone is watching our online activity and waiting to carry out attacks based on that, which we'll address.

So again, I apologize for any concern for our members but we can't lose our minds every time someone attacks the website. We have plans in place for a reason.

i didn't see you active unfortunatley and I know pom has been tinkering with different CDN and SSL hosts 

But once I saw how many people say that pom was arrested and I noticed that the tor mirror wasn't accepting 

My credentials, it led me to think the feds had compromised the host and setup a phising site like last time

This wouldn't be a problem if I was a co-owner of the website along with you.

why does it even matter? It's your responsibility to have good opsec and this is the only factor. Also it's not the mods job
to give analyses on downtime I presume, only top admin know what's going on with the server.
