dont ever EVER watch anything isekai (main guy suddenly teleports into another world w lots nd lots of girls nd he turns into some kinda super op rgp character) u can do better  :P  good luck                                                  

ps: most of the classics r not worth ur time

ps2: watch durarara!! or evangelion

ps3: dont watch anime when u can do much better things w ur time + it won't make u any cooler at all but if u need it to find common ground w ur co-workers then ig watching a few won't hurt... ask them what genres they're into or look up any of the names u've heard nd watch that

I'd recommend Boku no Pico. Truly a classic.

I would recommend evangelion or something that your co-workers would have probably seen so pretty much none of the obscure ones.

Actually, to initiate nonbelievers, I tend to start with anime movies, classics that would compare to typical live-action movies...
Find out what kind of genre that person prefers, then select a nice classic anime movie for the genre, that usually works like a charm, although Gibli movies usually do the trick pretty well too.
For ultra nonbelievers that like to say "cartoons" will never be as emotional as a live-action actor and anime is no art, I just go straight to Graveyard of the Fireflies and just break them apart with no mercy or compassion on their souls...

Just to stay on the loop, stick with the recent and popular anime, like Spy x Family, Demon Slayer, Jojo, Attack on Titan, Overlord. (the last 3 titles already ongoing for years, but it's still popular.)

As a first anime, I recommend Sword are online. Its a little hated but a great intro to anime

Why would you recommend it if it's "a little hated"?
Again, I'd say just watch Boku no Pico.
