Why isn't anime that popular in Europe!

Culture is the main factor. But why don't you try to recommend anime to your friends? Maybe they'll fall in love with anime.

Hmm, can't agree with OP. In country where I live it's pretty easy to find some kind of anime club. But yeah, the more rural place you live in, the less otaku are in there. :)

It's actually very hard to explain...
It's kinda like why there are more pngtubers than vtubers in poland and there are not so many furries there.
The same goes for Spain, where I don't know many people who watch anime or even know what this is.

I guess Anime is reserved for "European People of Culture" or something like that XD
After all, in my whole carrier, I only met like 20 people who watched anime and out of all my friends, only one (in theory) watches anime.. however, he only watches Dragon Balls and Naruto... nothing more.

I recently built him a new PC for gaming and making music on a MacOS KVM and he had like 7tb of pirated Naruto and Dragon Balls episodes XD
This was really amusing to see a certain logo of a very popular anime streaming platform in all those videos.
I told him to get a Dell SFF PC, do a 10tb RAID 10 setup and put all of them on the NAS and stream them via Plex but I guess he's too lazy to do that

I think it used to be more popular back in the days, where comics shop were way more common and japanese culture was broadcasted on tv in the form of anime media.
Nowadays I don't see anime's fame going down, but I think it has basically been accepted so much that people don't really talk about it anymore.

Im pretty sure its still popular it might just not be as brodcasted

Wow the responses in this thread are so far from what I thought they would be LOL

But anyway, I always thought it was because of how many languages there are in Europe. I imagine needing to find all those different language voice actors for the dubs would be expensive. And just in general, there would be people who would need to know both Japanese and the language they speak to fansub anime directly from JP. I imagine there is few Europeans who know JP.
