Nah, not gonna happen with the demographics. State provided pension seems to be a mirage tbh.
Best to save money and invest wisely.

Probably. Although the way the state pension keeps rising in the UK, it'll likely be in the late 80s for some people.

Tbh, I reckon the age of retirement will go up and up, and we'll all be dead before we collect our pensions, so basically pension/insurance companies will just carry on fleecing us of our money we'll never get back.

100% correct. Its a shame anyone who hasn't retired already is basically screwed. We're at the precipice of large changes. I do not foresee retirement in the traditional sense being a thing. At some point in our lifetime most jobs will be done by AI and the prospects of upward mobility will be destroyed. Follow this FatAngryPanda's advice, they've hit the nail on the head and its your best way to achieve upward mobility prior to stabilization.

You have to save money for yourself. Don't rely on the government, bunch of crooks. Even our government says that.
