Like/dislike, +/- rating system per post

It would be helpful on a per-post basis to see whether a service is legit or a guide is worth following.

However, it wouldn't be good in the long run for those likes/dislikes or +/- or whatever you'd call it to be shown anywhere in your profile or on your posts. On other forums, I've seen it lead to people stealing other people's leaks/content and reposting it endlessly to farm likes. If the metric isn't tracked, that behavior shouldn't happen.

Overall though, it would be an excellent addition to posts. Everyone enjoys seeing a number get bigger on their threads which encourages more content. When users rate something negative, it can help deter people from getting their pcs infected or wasting their time on a useless tutorial.

I'm pretty confident Reddit didn't come up with a rating system first. What they did do, however, was track those ratings, which is the opposite of what my post suggested.

I think of rep as an overall "this user has a [positive/negative] presence on the forum." The point of per-post ratings is to show, at a glance, if something works, if a service being sold is legitimate, if a post is worth your time to read, etc...

Id look at the comments and they'll tell me everything i need to know. Rating systems aren't rly known to be useful feedback wise.

That's a solid suggestion imo.
Hope it would be implemented in one form or another.

I also asked for this but it was denied.
I think it is cool just to have it and not display it on your profile so people don't do the good old "LIKE OR REPORT"

Denied, I don't like the feature of liking posts as it breeds people asking for them // lower quality threads hoping leechers will like them

Also in general never really liked the idea of liking threads on a forum, it seems weird
