However, I think highly of the feds, not to assume anything but just in case something were to have happened, proceeding with cautious is a good thing to do.

Genesis can definitely be hit and miss in terms of what's on offer, worth checking every now and again though.

It basically streamlined and made popular the sale of the type of data to a mass audience. In more public forums you could always buy bulk credentials (of whatever format), but they'd often not list the credentials (for obvious reasons) and you'd see specific sales of credentials that would fall under known wanted/interesting. However, Genesis made that fully searchable and easy to use so you could try and find bitchimabus logins and easily apply them with a simple toolbar if that's what you wanted.

Yea they're pretty cool, afaik genesis was the reason a hacker was able to compromise EA.

EA was hacked due to phishing and SE.

EA was hacked due to phishing and SE.

I read in an article that they bought a slack cookie on genesis and used that to SE some support guy into resetting someone's account password.

I think you are thinking of the T-Mobile data breach? That is literally what they did.
